We are thrilled to share a major milestone in our journey as India continues to modernise its rail network to improve travel time, passenger comfort, and safety, Oleo India has played a pivotal role in the development of the prestigious Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains
A Landmark Project for Passenger Safety
Oleo India successfully secured the order to supply high-performance crash energy absorbing parts for the first 10 train sets. These components are critical to ensuring the highest safety standards during rail operations.
Our Contribution includes:

Front Crash Buffers – 40 nos. Intermediate Crash Buffers – 600 nos.
Energy Absorption – 815kj per buffer Energy Absorption – 65kj per buffer
This achievement was the result of extensive collaboration and technical precision:
- We worked closely with coach builders, design consultants, and the railway team to provide detailed DigitalTrain crash simulations complying with the EN15227 standard.
- Our parts were designed, built, and type-tested for performance, with testing witnessed by officials from the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO).
-
Following installation in December 2024, our components underwent a full year of rigorous field trials and inspections by Indian Railway authorities.
Ready for Public Service
- The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has officially cleared the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains for public service.
It is a proud moment for all of us to see Oleo parts fitted in these trains during this era of rail revolution in India.
Congratulations to the entire team involved in making this project a success!
